In memory of...
Three special paintings in memory of my friend Paul Palika. I was very moved at his memorial service when members of the Patriot Guard Riders, a motorcycle riders group, came in and paid their respects, along with a number of other veteran's and motorcycle groups Paul was affiliated with. These paintings, each 8" x 8" in size, pay tribute to the groups that paid tribute to him.

Paintings by Terry Albert
My career as an artist didn't start with pet portraits, and it doesn't end there either. I love painting landscapes, florals and other subjects. I work in watercolor, acrylic, colored pencil, and sometimes pastels. I have incorporated scenery and florals into my pet artwork, and like to branch out and make these the subjects of my work, not just the background. I am available for commissioned paintings of the subject of your choice.
Memory paintings
One of my favorite subjects is a "memory painting." I have drawn the home where my grandparents raised their six children, and St. Michael's Mount in England where they courted (shown here). For one client, I painted an old family home, and had prints made so each person in the family could have a special keepsake depicting the place where they made so many loving memories. Prints can be personalized with a name on the mailbox or in a similar way for each recipient.
Another type of memory painting is a still life. Antique glassware and lace, an old tintype or teapot; any of these make a wonderful still life with a personal connection.
My family
My mother was an oil painter, and I first seriously studied painting by going to classes with her. While I was still in high school, we did shopping mall art shows together. 26 years after she died, I still use her easel to do my pastels, and her A-frames to display my work at shows. I still have her paint box and oil paints. Thanks Mom, and Dad, for encouraging my art. |
